Conditions of Use
Plain-English version of the agreement between you and Garage Tech Academy when you apply, enroll, or use this site.
Acceptance of terms
By applying to, enrolling in, or attending a Garage Tech Academy program, or by using this website, you agree to these conditions. They apply to every applicant, student, alumnus, and visitor.
Applications and enrollment
Submitting an application does not guarantee a place. We review every application and admit a small cohort per track to keep mentorship meaningful. A place is confirmed only when you receive an offer and complete the enrollment steps it describes.
- You must provide accurate information in your application.
- Applicants under 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian.
- Offers are personal and non-transferable.
Tuition and payments
Fees
Tuition for each track is stated in your offer. Fees are payable before the cohort start date unless your offer sets out an installment schedule.
Refunds and withdrawals
If you withdraw in writing at least 7 days before your cohort starts, we refund tuition paid, less any non-refundable deposit stated in your offer. After a cohort starts, tuition is not refundable, except where required by law or where we cancel a program — in which case we refund unused tuition pro-rata.
Student conduct
The academy is a shared learning space — on campus and online. We expect every student to treat others with respect. The following can lead to suspension or dismissal without refund:
- Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour toward students, mentors, or staff.
- Plagiarism or submitting work that is not your own.
- Sharing program materials outside the academy without permission.
- Damaging equipment or facilities, or misusing campus access.
Attendance, assessment, and certificates
Programs are structured and paced. Completion certificates are issued to students who meet the attendance and project requirements published for their track. Certificates confirm completion — they are not academic degrees.
Your work and intellectual property
You own the projects you build during the program. You grant Garage Tech Academy a non-exclusive licence to showcase student work (with attribution) in our marketing and program materials. Program curricula, exercises, and teaching materials remain our property and may not be redistributed.
Liability
We provide supervised facilities and take reasonable care, but you are responsible for your personal belongings on campus. To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the tuition you paid for the program concerned.

Changes to these conditions
We may update these conditions periodically. We'll notify enrolled students of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect.
