Who we are

Garage Tech Academy is the education institution of GarageHub, based in Karu, Abuja, Nigeria. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you apply to a program, study with us, or visit this website — and the rights you have under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA).

Data we collect

You give us

  • Application details — name, email, phone number, and the background and motivation answers in the application form.
  • Enrollment and payment records for your program.
  • Messages you send us by email, WhatsApp, or the contact form.

Collected automatically

  • Basic usage data when you browse the site (pages visited, approximate location, device type) via privacy-friendly analytics.
  • Technical logs needed to keep the site secure and reliable.

How we use your data

  • Reviewing applications and running admissions.
  • Delivering programs — attendance, assessment, certificates, and student support.
  • Processing tuition payments and keeping required financial records.
  • Responding to enquiries and sending program updates you have asked for.
  • Improving the site and our programs.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate — payment processors, our hosting providers (the site runs on Vercel with a managed Postgres database), and email delivery services — each bound to process it only on our instructions.

How long we keep it

Application data for unsuccessful applicants is kept for up to 12 months in case a later cohort fits, then deleted. Student and financial records are kept for as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see your rights below.

Your rights

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Ask us to delete your data where we no longer have a lawful basis to hold it.
  • Ask us to restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) at ndpc.gov.ng.

Children

Our programs are designed for ages 16 and up. Applicants under 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian, and we collect their data only with that consent.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When changes are material we will notify students and applicants by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Effective date" in the sidebar always reflects the current version.
